Objectives:
Students will be able to give instructions using preposition of place andpreposion of direction correctly.
Learning Outcomes:
 At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1.    Identify preposition of place and preposition of direction by generating their own instruction sentences.
2.    Use the correct preposition when giving direction to places on a given map.
3.    Listen and follow the instruction given correctly to reach assigned places. 

Moral Values:
1.    Cooperation
The importance of cooperation when working together as a team.
2.    Good citizenship
Being proud as Malaysian to have many interesting places that representing Malaysian identity.




Educational Emphasis:
Thinking Skill – Students are able to generate their own sentences while incorporating preposition that they just learn.                                                                 
Multiple Intelligence – Verbal Linguistic where students are able to come out with their own instruction dialogue.

Instructional Aids:
-       Maps from GoogleMaps.
-       Video from YouTube.
-       Quiz on Kahoot.

Previous Knowledge:
 Students have been introduced to the vocabulary related to places.

·         Teacher greets students.
·         Teacher asks students whether they are familiar with Maps or Waze and shows an example of navigation video using Waze.
·         Teacher relates the use of these apps with today’s lesson.

·         Students respond to teacher.
·         Students answer teacher’s question and watch teacher’s demostration.



·         Students pay attention to the teacher.
Development                           (20 minutes)

ACTIVITY 1
( Awareness Raising)












·         Teacher replay the video and asks students to write down instructions given by the Waze from the video played.  

·         Teacher then discusses the correct way of using the preposition in giving direction.

·         Teacher use Kahoot! to test students’ understanding on the topic by asking them to fill in the blank with correct preposition.


·         Students listen to teacher’s explanation.






·         Students respond to the discussion.



·         Students answer quiz using Kahoot the correct preposition.




ACTIVITY 2
( Appropriation)


·         Teacher asks students go open GoogleMaps using the browser and search Bandaraya Melaka’s map.
·         Teacher gives example of instruction sentences by demonstrating how to get to a restaurant in Malacca.

·         Teacher assigns a location to each student along with place that they need to give direction to.


·         Students search for Bandaraya Melaka’s map using GoogleMaps.

·         Students listen to teacher’s explanation.




·         Students assigned with different places that they have to come up with instruction on howto get tothat assignedlocation.


( Autonomy)


·         Teacher asks each student to come out with instructional sentences that will lead their friend to the place.

·         Teacher asks a student to give instruction and other students to listen to the instruction and guess where it will lead him/her.

·         Teacher supervises students as they try to guess where they are supposed to go based on the instructions.

·         Teacher asks the other student to do the same and take turn playing the game.

·         As they finish, teacher emphasizes the importance of using correct preposition to construct clear instruction.

·         Students construct the sentences.






·         Student listens and follows the direction given by his/her friend and try to guess.


·         Other students try to guess where the location is.




·         Students take turn to play guessing game.




·         Students listen to teacher’s explanation.

Conclusion                        
(5 minutes)


·         Teacher discusses thoughts and feelings of students based on activities.

·         Teacher highlights the moral values.

·         Students share their thought and feelings on the activities.

Follow-Up Activity: Students need to draw a map and come out with instructions on how to get to their house from school using correct preposition.
